School Visits and Learning Resources

As part of the teaching of Christianity

within the RE syllabus, schools are encouraged to visit a local Christian place of worship. A visit to All Saints’ Church should be planned with the Rector who will encourage schools to take advantage of the detailed knowledge of members of the church. Alongside the teacher they will help to make the visit both an educational and spiritual experience, both aspects of the aims of Religious education: † to learn about the church and to learn about its significance for Christians. The best learning from a visit comes from an integrated approach where the relevance of the learning is obvious to both staff and pupils.
